In 2003 Terry Teeters acquired a 3.5 kg Diedrich Coffee Roaster and began roasting Kele’s Coffee at Pioneer Plaza in Downtown Honolulu. Five years later, Charles Nelson took over. passionate coffee lover, coffee perfectionist, created Downtown Coffee. Downtown Coffee quickly became the Honolulu Weekly’s Editor’s Choice for Best Latte. 2010 – present – Fred & Fumiko and their staff (Rhea, Jon, Sara, Nick, and Jeremy)strive to uphold the standards set before them. Downtown Coffee is located in the landmark Cunha’s Alley food court of the Pioneer Plaza Building in Downtown Honolulu. The top two floors of the building is home to the prestigious Plaza Club. 100% Local – Roasted on Site We buy and roast about 3,000 pounds of only locally grown green coffee per year right here in our coffee shop. We have the unique opportunity to buy green coffee directly from our farmers here on Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
